This list provides information on the airlines that operate in the United States, which are categorized as passenger airlines. Passenger airlines are further divided into four main types: mainline, regional, commuter, and charter.

Passenger airlines are further divided into four main types: mainline, regional, commuter, and charter. Mainline airlines are larger, full-service airlines that operate on longer routes between major cities, while regional airlines are smaller and operate on shorter routes between smaller cities and regional airports. Commuter airlines are even smaller and operate on very short routes, often connecting small communities to nearby cities or regional hubs. Charter airlines specialize in providing air transportation for groups or individuals on a charter basis, rather than on scheduled routes.
